3 Days 2 Nights Experience Bidayuh Mountain Village Life ~ Kuching, Sarawak Borneo
Depart time: 7:30 am
Meet at hotel lobby and depart to Kiding village. The journey will take around 2 hours driving through mountainous region great for scenery.
Day 1 features experience to live like a local Bidayuh native high on the mountain. Depending on the road condition, you may need to hike up for about 2 hours to reach the village. Spend the day walking around the village and play traditional games such as blowpipes and mini tops after lunch. Spend the night with the locals to get to know more about their lifestyles along with interesting village folks’ stories.
Day 2 features sunrise watching early in the morning and 3 hours trekking to a waterfall passing through farms and streams after breakfast. Upon reaching, you can swim or just sunbathing on the large rocks around. Trek back after lunch. Spend the night resting before hike down from the village tomorrow morning.
Day 3 features breakfast while seating on an open bamboo platform to watch sunrise. Hike down from the village after check-out from the locals’ house.
Transfer back to hotel.

Local Host Profile
Jirung is one of of the local hosts whom we have been working with for the past year when it comes to bringing travelers to Kiding village. He has spent most of his life in the village, doing farm work, sorting out some of the water-piping affairs in the village. He is hardworking and dedicated in providing the best experience for visiting travelers. Jirung is as dependable as it gets and he is equally knowledgeable of the rain forest around Kiding village. He speaks basic English.
Gegery is the other local host from Kiding village. Gegery is very knowledgeable of the surroundings of the village and is always ready to offer his assistance to visitors. Gegery is a true animal enthusiast and would spend his free time walking in the forest searching for exotic animal sightings. Gegery is an excellent and dependable guide; usually seen leading visitors to the waterfall when they are jungle trekking. He speaks basic English.The operator Backyard Tour wants to do more than just providing tours like everyone else; it is about balancing income from organising tours and giving back to the communities. Here, community-based tours are designed with local communities to give travellers a chance to experience the local flavour like never before.
