Tasik Pedu - best time to go

By car

(from north) - Head south using the PLUS - north south highway, exit at Alor Star. Pedu Lake is approximately 90km from Alor Star.

After the toll exit, make a right turn at traffic lights and head towards Langgar (there's a signboard at junction). Drive straight on for about 14km and you will get to Pokok Sena, then turn right at a sign for turn-off to Naka. There's a Pasaraya (Supermarket) Pokok Sena on your right - good place to stock up snacks and drinks if you haven't done so. Opens daily from 9:00 a.m - 12:00 a.m. (sorry no alcohol sold here). About 15kms ahead, you'll get to a roundabout, go straight (or 12:00). You should be passing a sign indicating that you're in Nami not far from the roundabout. Keep going till you get to a sign for turn-off to Pedu Lake. Another 32km drive will take you to Pedu Lake.

Alternatively, you can take the Kuala Nerang route, which is slightly shorter, but more hilly and windy. If you wish to take this route, just follow signs to Kuala Nerang from Pokok Sena. There will be signs directing you to make a right turn to Pedu Lake once you pass Kuala Nerang.

(from south) - Head north using the PLUS - north south highway, exit at Gurun. (For toll charges, you can link to http://plus.com.my/tollfare) Follow signs to Jeniang, then towards Sik, Gulau and Gubir. Upon reaching Gubir, there are signs clearly indicating turn-off to Pedu Lake. Travel time - approximately 2 hours from Gurun exit.
