Please Note:

The homestay is unable to accept guests with children under 12 years old due to the unattended swimming pool, steep staircases, rugged rock features in the garden and slippery slopes leading to the adjacent rainforest. Therefore they simply cannot accept any liability for young children.

Halal Food
The homestay does not provide halal food, and also alcohol is served . There is a halal Muslim seafood restaurant (Dayang Seafood) 5 minutes walk from Nanga Damai.

Family Pets
The owners have two pet dogs, Bobby and Betty, both friendly and well-behaved Borneo hunting bitches. If you are not happy with dogs around the place, you might need to look somewhere else. For your information, the dogs are not allowed in the house or any guest accommodation area - please don't encourage them to do otherwise.

Length Of Stay
There's a minimum two nights stay policy.

Room Occupancy
Guests are limited to two occupants per room - multiple occupancy or additional beds are not allowed. Normal check-out time is 11.00 am, however they are usually flexible about check out times if your room is not needed by another guest.

Destination Sarawak ~ Santubong ~ Damai Beach ~ homestay Room Type The house was designed by the owners as a place to enjoy the tropical Sarawak climate, with plenty of fresh air, open spaces and fascinating architectural details. It is decorated with an eclectic mix of authentic Borneo antiques and artifacts to give a very Sarawakian feel to the place. 4 rooms and 1 wooden cottage Room Description All in house rooms have air conditioning, whilst the naturally cool wooden cottage has overhead and floor fans. James Brooke room ~ features a magnificent wooden four poster bed, a spacious en-suite bathroom with shower and bathtub, satellite TV, telephone, fridge and air conditioning. The room enjoys panoramic views to the front of the house, overlooking the South China Sea, and the rear of the house, overlooking the Sarawak rainforest Charles Brooke room ~ features a king-size bed, a spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub which is shared with the Vyner Brooke room, satellite TV, telephone, fridge and air conditioning. The room enjoys views to the side of the house, overlooking the South China Sea, and the rear of the house, overlooking the Sarawak rainforest. Vyner Brooke room ~ features a king-size bed, a spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub which is shared with the Charles Brooke room, satellite TV, telephone, fridge and air conditioning. The room enjoys views to the rear of the house, overlooking the Sarawak rainforest Ranee Margaret room ~ features a king-size bed, attached bathroom with shower, satellite TV, telephone, fridge and air conditioning. Although somewhat smaller than our other rooms, the Ranee Margaret room has its own private sun deck overlooking the South China Sea Ranee Sylvia Villa ~ When the old Masonic lodge in Kuching was demolished, the owners bought the building's 100 year old Borneo ironwood timbers, doors and window frames, and commissioned a family of Malay boat-builders to construct the cottage. The remaining timber was used to build the pool deck and verandah extension. Ranee Sylvia's cottage features two single beds, en-suite bathroom with shower, satellite TV, telephone, fridge and fan cooling. It has its own private verandah overlooking a crystal clear jungle stream. The cottage also has simple kitchen facilities which long-stay guests are welcome to use Wallace's villa ~ will be fully self-contained and will feature 2 large bedrooms, kitchen, living room and all amenities. It will be open for booking in mid-2006 Facilities & Activities Nanga Damai is principally a bed and breakfast homestay and does not operate a restaurant. However special arrangements can be made to cater food to guests with an advance notice. Charges depend on the price of ingredients and fresh produce, but expect approximately RM 20-30 per person for a substantial dinner and RM 10 for a lunch of fried rice or noodles and side dishes. Ice-cold beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks are available for self-service at the terrace bar. Pool Table, Multi-Gym & Free Weights, Swimming Pool With Sun Deck, Tropical Garden, Terrace Bar, Breakfast Verandah, Private Jungle Trail, Nearby Beach & Mangroves (10 mins walk), Laundry Service, 1st Floor Guest Lounge With Panoramic Views, Car Rental (Hertz), Scooter For Guests' Use (when available - valid license required)
