There isn't a restaurant here but you can make simple snacks in the kitchen or pop down the road to the night markets and stalls for your meals. This is a wonderful place to stay if you wish to immerse yourself in simple kampung life environ. There are no locks on doors, open-air bathrooms hang over the edge of the rooms propped by sturdy stilts and the sea breeze makes up for the absence of the modern appliances we so depend on in the city to regulate the heat. The structure of the basic kampung houses take advantage of the surroundings. Even the hottest afternoons are pleasantly cool - the attap roof allows heat to escape and the river that runs under the chalets, acts as a cooling system. An ingenious cooling system that ancient civilisations have built on and modern architecture has seem to have forgotten.
