Itinerary:

Whitewater kayaking

(class 2+ to 4+)

The kayaking courses are design to ultimately achieve the whitewater paddling skills needed in three stages.

Beginners/ Flatwater Course. (3 days)
This is the introduction to kayaking. We teach all the basics of kayaking on a secluded lake with clean water. After a short introduction to a whitewater kayak, paddle and equipment we start various exercises such as wet exits, forwards paddle, backwards paddle, turning strokes etc. Normally, the first day is spent on the lake and only when students show reasonable control of his/her boat, they proceed to the river.

1) Intro to Kayaking
2) Flat-water paddling skills
3) Intro to Moving water techniques
4) Intro to Eskimo Roll
5) Easy river run (depending on progress).

The duration of the beginner’s course is 3 days.

The entry level is basically a beginner with lots of enthusiasm and water confidence.

Hotel/Trip Description

Destination

Destination Selangor ~ Kuala Kubu Baru ~ Sungai Selangor adventure description (class 2+ to 4+ during normal water flow, some 5 during high water) ~ This is the whitewater experience in Malaysia and will be challenged by its superb yet, steep and technical rapids. Generally, the river flows in abundance through spectacularly beautiful riverine flora and fauna, a result of the high rainfall and relatively undisturbed catchments. Still in a pristine and natural state in most places especially in the upstream reaches, they gush continuously throughout the year. It also acts as the people’s playground by providing recreational opportunities as well as posing challenges to the intrepid travellers and the adventure-seekers (i.e. river tubing, whitewater rafting and kayaking). For the nature lover or thrill seeker, rafting enthusiast or active kayaker, there is an unforgettable experience awaiting you Trip Duration and Equipment This is 3 day programme course that takes the kayakker through a series of stages from basic kayakking to eskimo rolls. This entry level is basically for a beginner with lots of enthusiasm and water confidence. Transportation   make your own way to kuala kubu baru for this trip. This is on the Kuala Kubu Baru to Fraser’s Hill road. The Put-In is just before the Sg Selangor bridge which is about 5 km from the town of Kuala Kubu Baru. From there the guides will take the group to the put-in point. All rafters are to proceed to KKB using their own transport unless we are requested to supply transportation as well at an added cost. Meeting time at the Kuala Kubu Post Office is at 8.30 A.M. All will be required to sign our waiver forms and to partake in our safety briefing and basic paddling instructions. This usually takes 20 minutes. The run itself will take about 2 hours depending on water level
