Recommended Personal Gear
Insect repellent, raincoat (umbrella not recommended), hat, binocular and sun screen (sweat proof). Use good walking shoes and comfortable cotton T-shirt with long or short pant.

Day 01 – SEPILOK / BY BOAT TO SUKAU / FIREFLIES 0800hrs Pick up from Sandakan Airport(preferably on MH2042 ETA0810hrs). Drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform. 1000hrs feeding of Orang Utans. At this center, observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. 1100-1115 hrs depart Sepilok and transfer to jetty in Sandakan. 1145 hrs take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. After Lunch, free and relax at our nature board walk before cruising for searching other wildlife. After dinner, a night cruise lead you to witness the nature of fire flies as Christmas tree. Overnight at Abai Jungle Lodge.(Lunch / Dinner) Day 02 - ABAI VILLAGE wake up by the calls of nature. Early morning take a river trip to the Pitas lake to observe wildlife and experience the unique of Pitas lake. After breakfast, an option to join our tree planting project with the locals and lunch with them at Abai village. This project especially to help the locals. Overnight at Abai Jungle Lodge. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Day 03 – BY BOAT TO SANDAKAN In the morning, you are free to view more birds/wildlife and enjoy a cup of coffee at our nature board walk. After breakfast, take another one hour boat cruise back to Sandakan. Upon arrival at jetty, drive up hill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay before lunch at local restaurant or hotel.
