Recommended Personal Gear
Insect repellent, raincoat (umbrella not recommended), hat, binocular and sun screen (sweat proof). Use good walking shoes and comfortable cotton T-shirt with long or short pant.

Day 1 SEPILOK/BY BOAT TO ABAI JUNGLE LODGE/PM&NIGHT CRUISE 08:00-08:10hrs Pick up from hotel in Sandakan or meet upon arrival at the Sandakan Airport(preferably on MH2042 OR AK6092). Drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform. 1000hrs feeding of Orang Utans. At this center, observe mans closest relative the Orang Utan being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. 11:10-11:15hrs depart Sepilok and transfer to jetty in Sandakan. 1145-1200hrs take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. After Lunch, free and relax at our nature boardwalk, make sure to bring along your binoculars. Look out for any moving trees, you might have the chance to spot the wild orang utan, Silver leaf monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Later in the afternoon, you'll be experiencing a cruise to search for more wildlife until the sunsets while enjoying a cup of coffee and by night falls continue the night cruise to witness the fire flies as Christmas tree. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, again experience the Jungle at night at our nature boardwalk to search for birds, snakes, insects and other wildlife with our nature guide. Overnight Abai Jungle Lodge. (Lunch/Dinner) Day 2 Pitas Oxbow Lake/Tree Planting/Lunch at Abai Village/PM cruise Wake up by the calls of nature. Early morning take a river trip to the Pitas lake to observe wildlife and experience the unique of Pitas lake. After breakfast, you are invited to join our tree planting project with the locals, enjoy a simple lunch arranged by the villagers at Abai village. This project specially design to help the locals. After lunch, you are free to explore the nature board walk behind the lodge, Again make sure you bring along your binoculars, look for any tree moving!! There may be .wild orang utan! Silver leaf monkeys, birds and many others! Late afternoon, another river cruise to search for different wildlife. Overnight at Abai Jungle Lodge. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner ) Day 3 Boat to Sukau/Menanggul River Cruise Wake up by the calls of nature, free at leisure at our nature boardwalk, After lunch, cruise UP river to Sukau village in search of primates especially the Wild Orang Utan, Pygmy Elephant, birds and other wildlife. Arrive Sukau, check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. Late afternoon, take another river cruise to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return lodge for dinner and overnight at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner ) Day 4 BY BOAT TO SANDAKAN/WET MARKET After breakfast, 07:00-07:30hrs, take another two hour boat cruise back to Sandakan.
