The centre provides a perfect natural habitat to observe the natural behavior of this primate .See the orang utans wondering in towering trees of the untouched rainforest before coming down for feeding. Soon after, proceed to our next visit to our next to pitcher plants and wild Orchid Garden to discovers treasure of the Borneo Jungle .The garden which was constructed in the middle of 2001 covers an area of more than an acre .The initial concept of this particular garden is to explore and exhibit the various species of pitcher plant and wild orchid which can only be found in the island of Borneo, especially along the Kalimantan. Visit to the Pottery Factory .Here you will have the opportunity how this well-known pottery is made and may obtain a few to be taken home as souvenir. |

Fairy Cave and Wind Cave are about 50 min drives from Kuching City. The Fairy Cave is about 3-storey high. After a quick climb through the cave with torchlight, the cave opens up into a main chamber. Sunlight streams into the chamber, enabling you to view the limestone formation of several types. View the beautiful and some eerie shape of nature creations, the stalactites and stalagmites. There is a formation that has been likened to the Goddess of Mercy which at about 3 metres in height resembles a woman dressed in classical Chinese robes, complete with hat, look down benignly upon worshippers. Another formation looks like an old man crouching down. |
Popularly known as the ‘Living Museum’, the Village is a showcase of a kaleidoscope of Sarawak’s cultures and traditions. On arrival, you will explore the 7 authentic replicas of ethnic houses. When making a visit to the Bidayuh longhouse, you will be able to see the splendid architecture of their longhouse which was build mostly by bamboo. Annah Rais is one of the most famous Bidayuh longhouse in Sarawak which located about 100 km east from Kuching city and quite closes to the Indonesian border. The excursion will take about one and a half hour on the road. During your visit, you will also be able to view the villagers with their own daily routine like rice pounding and winnowing, basket and mat weaving, bamboo carving, etc. You will be brought into the most unique and important structure, the ‘Baruk’ or the head house which situated in the middle of the longhouse. This once was used as a fort to protect the whole village from being attack by enemy. This is a large area of rainforest with animals in spacious cages in varying stages of rehabilitation. This tour are conducted using comfortable motor launches with full safety features, based at the Sarawak Boat Club, about 30 min from Kuching. This trip of about 3 hours explores the many branches of the Santubong and Salak River Delta systems as they join the South China Sea. Enjoy a close view of the heavily silted mangrove swamp which is a safe heaven to the myriad creatures like the reptiles, mud skippers, crabs, shell fish, monkeys, etc. The Irrawaddy or snubfin dolphin inhabits rivers, estuaries and shallow coastal areas. This cruise combines the Mangrove Cruise with a visit to the Santubong River mouth in search of the Irrawaddy dolphins. Dolphin watching may take place before or after the mangrove cruise, depending on tidal conditions. This tour explores the many branches of the Santubong and Salak River Delta system as they emerge into the South China Sea. It focuses on the complex ecosystem of the mangrove swamp, which is an important breeding ground for many marine animal species, and a permanent home for small reptiles, mud-skippers, crabs, shellfish, and occasional mammals such as monkeys and lorises. Unlike in a Zoo, the Semenggoh Orang Utan Sanctuary is set free in a 740 hectare forest reserve. Here, young Orang Utans, who were either orphaned or rescued from captivity, are trained to survive in the wild. The Sanctuary is not set up as a tourist attraction but visitors are most welcome. Upon arrival at the Sanctuary, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the Orang Utans during their feeding time. Spot their delicate nest, watch their skilful movements at the tree tops and also their interesting behaviour during feeding time. You’ll be taken to a crocodile farm, which is situated amongst lush tropical fruit trees. This farm is home to over 1,000 crocodiles as serves as the perfect sanctuary to these fearsome reptiles as they are housed in enclosures simulating their natural habitats. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch proceed to fairy Cave .The Fairy Cave is about 3-storey high. After a quick climb through the cave with torchlight, the cave opens up into a main chamber. Sunlight streams into the chamber, enabling you to view the limestone formation of several types. View the beautiful and some eerie shape of nature creations, the stalactites and stalagmites. There is a formation that has been likened to the Goddess of Mercy which at about 3 metres in height resembles a woman dressed in classical Chinese robes, complete with hat, look down benignly upon worshippers. Another formation looks like an old man crouching down. Then proceed to the Wind Cave which only about 10 min drive away. Walking along the platform, you will find that this dark-tunnel like cave is filled with bats and swiftest. Look around the wall of the cave with torchlight and you might be lucky to spot the bird nest with some eggs in it. |

The guide will also narrate to you the behaviour, emotion and characteristics of this special primate called Orang Utan, meaning ‘Man of the Forest’. After that continue tour to Annah Rais Longhouse. Bidayuh, the second largest ethnic group in Sarawak, is formerly known as the ‘Land Dayak’ and was once also known as the ‘Engineer of Bamboo’. When making a visit to the Bidayuh longhouse, you will be able to see the splendid architecture of their longhouse which was build mostly by bamboo. Annah Rais is one of the most famous Bidayuh longhouse in Sarawak which located about 100 km east from Kuching city and quite closes to the Indonesian border. The excursion will take about one and a half hour on the road. During your visit, you will also be able to view the villagers with their own daily routine like rice pounding and winnowing, basket and mat weaving, bamboo carving, etc. You will be brought into the most unique and important structure, the ‘Baruk’ or the head house which situated in the middle of the longhouse. This once was used as a fort to protect the whole village from being attack by enemy. Inside the ‘Baruk’, you will be able to view the real human skulls hanging around the fire place in the middle and the also their sacred war drum. And last tour to proceed is Fairy Cave . Pick-up at the hotel and proceed to Bako National Part. The trip will take approximately one and a half hours by land and boat. Upon arrival you will visit the spectacular ‘Sea Stack‘. Bako was established as a national park in 1957. Since then it has offered it’s visitors the perfect introduction to Sarawack’s native vegitation and wildlife. It is situated on the northern tip of the Muara Tebas Peninsula and covers 27sq kms. Although seemingly small compared to other national parks, Bako is rich in a vast variety of vegetation and wildlife as it extends out to coastal beaches and coves. Upon arrival a guide take you along well-planned trails where you will see an abundance of flora and fauna amongst the shady forest canopy. You will see winding creepers and vines, long tailed macaques and silver leaf monkeys. Wild boars, squirrels and monitor lizards are common sights in the park and you may even get a chance to peak on the shy proboscis monkeys during low tide with the help of your guide. Return to Kuching and drop-off at hotel. |
At 9.00am, depart from your hotel to indulge in a full day trip to Gunung Gading National Park. The drive to your destination will take approximately 40 minutes from Kuching City. You will then be brought to a small town named Siniawan, where you will be able to see the processing of the swallow bird’s nest, a delicacy among most Asians, which will take about 30 minutes. Home to the Rafflesia, Gunung Gading houses the largest flower in the world. The Rafflesia is a genus of parasitic plants. It feeds on the nutrition and food of other plants in the tropical rainforest. The flowering season is undetermined and can bud any time, taking nine months to mature and flowering for 4 to 5 days before dying. The Rafflesia also produces a pungent smell to attract flies and carrion beetles in order for pollen to be transferred. Pick up at hotel and depart on a 4hr drive that takes you through the scenic lush mountain valleys along the Pan Borneo Highway to the Iban Longhouse on the Lemanak River. Arrive at the river jetty and take a spectacular hour long-boat ride upriver though weaving through mist and over-hanging jungle foliage. Upon arrival at the longhouse, the Iban natives will greet and welcome you with the local traditional rice wine "TUAK". Explore the longhouse and gain an insight into the unique culture of the Iban communities. This long house is home to some 23 families - all living under one roof. This National Park is located in the Kuching Division, at the westernmost tip of Sarawak, near the Indonesian border. Gazetted in 1994, it is Sarawak's latest addition to its string of national Parks and also the smallest, covering an area of only 1,379 hectares. Situated in a mountainous region, the area features swift-flowing rivers of crystal and clear waters. Its shoreline comprises some of Sarawak's most beautiful beaches with sparkling sand and seas of aquamarine glittering in the sun. The existence of a coral shore also sets it apart from the other coastal areas in Sarawak. The area is densely covered by lush vegetation of mixed dipterocarp forest, supporting a myriad of habitats, beautiful plants and intriguing wildlife. |
In the morning, board a motorized launch for a trip along the historical Sarawak River. Cruising past the swaying leaves of nipah palms, coconut and mangrove trees and fishing villages, you may be able to catch glimpses of mudskippers foraging on the mid-banks or even tiny agile flying fish leaping across the bow of your boat. As the meandering river joins the South China Sea, the boat will go past Mt. Santubong and you will see a great number of "kilong" structures along the shallow shores, the preferred and traditional style of fishing of local Malay fishermen. Arrive at Satang Island, traditionally a haven for turtles on their migratory journey around the world. Spend a few hours swimming and snorkelling its pristine waters, well known for its beautiful corals, huge lobsters and colourful fish. The beach will serve a picnic lunch. In the afternoon return to Kuching via the same route. |
