PADAS RIVER  (Grade III - IV)

KIULU RIVER (Grade I - II)

Padas River (Grade III - IV)  is situated in the interior of southwestern part of Kota Kinabalu that is only accessible by train (used since the late 19th century in Borneo). Basically, this trip will give you two experiences advantages -

1) Excursion of Class III-IV river, 
2) A uniquely ride in an antique train.

The adrenaline rush excursion covers a distance of 9km of this rather muddy 200 km river that holds 7 exciting and tough rapids! These rapid carries amusing names such as Merry-Go-Round Rapid, Break Point Rapid, Scooby Doo Rapid, Cobra Rapid, Curve Rapid, Lambada Rapid and Head Hunter Rapid. Each rapid will give you the feel of the motion as what the name means.

Kiulu River (Grade I - II) is a great river for beginners, both elderly and kids may join this trip thus makes it suitable for a family trip.

Trip begins with a safety briefing session conducted by our professional raft guide that will demonstrates rafting techniques and proper handling of rafting equipment before rafting commences. Excursion covers up to 15km, making it the longest white water rafting trip in Borneo. The journey will take about 1 ½ - 2 hours of rafting before reaching the ending point where delicious barbecue lunch prepared just by the riverbank.

Age Requirement:

Padas River ~ Children aged 12yrs and below are not permitted on Padas River . However, a child although meeting the minimum age requirement, may not be allowed to raft subject to the operator's absolute discretion

Kiulu River ~ Children aged 5yrs and below are not permitted on Kiulu River . However, a child although meeting the minimum age requirement, may not be allowed to raft subject to the operator's absolute discretion

Transfer Surcharge:

For Rasa Ria Resort, Nexus, Sabandar Resort, Mimpian Jadi Resort pick up point ~ an additional RM31.80 per person is chargeable for the Padas Trip

For Beringgis, Resorts located in the Kinarut area pick up point, an additional charge of RM31.80 per person is chargeable for Kiulu Trips

Children Charge:

* Children under 12yrs old will be charged RM130 per child for the Kiulu trip * Children are not included in determining the group rate

Pick up from hotel and transfer by coach to Beaufort Railway Station. Located in interior division of Sabah, east Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. Signing of liability Release Form before the rafting commences.

0730hrs

 

                    

 

Arrive at Beaufort, Get onboard by train. The thrilling yet scenic ride will take around 1 ½ hours – 2 hours to get  to PANGI STATION (starting point). Train will depart at 0750 hrs.There will be interchange of train at Saliwangan Statioand passengers have to walk around 200 meters to the waiting train. (This will be temporary until the railway track has been repaired).

You will have 10 minutes stopped at Rayoh station to keep your belonging and get change for rafting gears.

When arrived at Pangi, light refreshment will be served, Safety briefing will be conducted by Riverbug crew.

Rafting commence from starting point to RAYOH (ending point) which will take about 1 ½ hours-2 hours (10km) includes of 8 points of rapids namely HEAD HUNTER, LAMBADA, COBRA, SCOOBY DOO, WASHING MACHINE, MARY GO ROUND, SNAKE HOUSE AND BBQ RAPIDS.

Expected time of arrive at Rayoh (ending point) for sumptuous lunch and after lunch we will depart back by train to BEAUFORT at 1330 hrs, estimated 2 hours – 2 ½ hours on train ride.

Kota Kinabalu city (your hotel) estimated 2 hours – 2 ½ hours.

Depart from your hotel in the Kota Kinabalu City and proceed to Kiulu River, located at Tamparuli area. Journey take 1 ½ -2 hours drive.

Arrive at starting point. Safety Briefing will be given by RIVERBUG's professional river guide and signing of Liability Release form.

Rafting commences. Excursions takes about 2 hours to the ending point.
